Newton Country Day School Softball Wins EIL Tournament
5/20/2019
On Saturday, May 18, Newton Country Day School’s Varsity Softball team won the Eastern Independent League (EIL) tournament, hosted by Dana Hall School. Seeded #2 in the tournament, NCDS faced Dana Hall in the first game, winning 14-4. In the championship game, Newton took on #4 Bancroft School, who had defeated the #1 ranked Winsor School to advance to the title game. Tied going into the bottom of the 7th inning, Newton’s victory came as the 15th run crossed the plate for a final score of 15-14.
The team completed the regular season with an overall record of 8-2 and went 7-1 in league play.
