Three Portsmouth Abbey Teams Make NEPSAC Tournament
he Portsmouth Abbey boys soccer, girls soccer, and field hockey made the New England Prep School Athletic Conference end of season tournament.
This is the second year in a row the boys soccer team qualified for the NEPSAC tournament. They received the #6 seed and will face EIL rival Berwick Academy in the first round. Head Coach Sebastian Gonzalez is very proud of the growth the team has gone through this year and believes the team has a good shot at advancing.
The girls soccer team has also made the NEPSAC tournament in back to back years. They received the #3 seed and will face Masters School of New York in the first round. Head Coach Steve Zins has been looking forward to this moment and has been preparing his team to make a deep run in the playoffs all season.
This is the first time the field hockey team has made the NEPSAC tournament under Head Coach Julia DellaRusso. The team received the #4 seed and will face Kent’s Hill School in the first round. Coach DellaRusso is very proud of the growth her team especially the seniors who have given so much to the program.
